Jason Byrne revealed as is the headline comedian at Southport Comedy Festival 2021

JASON Byrne has been announced as the 1st headline comedian to star at the 2021 Southport Comedy Festival! The comic, whose TV appearances include:- Live at the Apollo, The Royal Variety Performance and The John Bishop Show, is the 1st big name to be announced for the popular annual event. It will take place in a giant luxury marquee at Victoria Park in Southport between 1 October 2021 and 17 October 2021. Watch out for more big names to be announced soon! Jason Byrne tickets went on sale, at 10am, on Friday, 16 April 2021. Phil McIntyre Live Ltd in association with Lisa Thomas Management will proudly present his new show:- 'Jason Byrne's Audience Precipitation.' They said:- "He's back for more comedy chaos! Jason has learnt over the past few years that we all need to 'play' a bit more in our lives. With this in mind, Jason will do what he does best, connecting with the audience in a way no other comic can. Whether it's inviting or dragging (as it has been known) people up onto stage and making a:- 'holy show of them,' as they say in Ireland. Jason's Audience Precipitation, will be a laugh out loud, must see show, with a light drizzle of audience participation… Ooohhh clever that."

Southport Comedy Festival was due to take place at Victoria Park in November last year but was ultimately postponed as Covid numbers rose across the UK, with full refunds given to every customer. The Festival bill included:- Jason Manford, Russell Kane, Rich Hall, Jo Caulfield, Reginald D Hunter, Ed Byrne, Paul Zerdin, Paul Sinha and Andy Parsons with the event sponsored by Southport firm Anthony James Estate Agents. Now with rapidly falling Covid numbers and over 40 million Coronavirus vaccinations having been given in the UK, organisers Brendan Riley and Val Brady are looking forward to giving audiences the chance to laugh out loud again after a challenging year for everyone. They have received some funding from the Government's Culture Recovery Fund in addition to financial support from a number of local sponsors. They said:- "We are delighted to announce that the Southport Comedy Festival will be back this year from 1 October to 17 October 2021! This year all of our shows will be in a luxury marquee in Southport's famous Victoria Park. We are delighted to see Jason Byrne returning to Southport. He is very much a Festival favourite, he sells out every year. We have really helped to build up a big following for him in the area. We are hoping that by the time the Festival is held that most, if not all, Covid restrictions will have been relaxed. It is possible that there may still be some requirements for controlling audiences inside venues, so we are taking a very cautious approach to our initial ticket sales. As restrictions are relaxed we will offer more tickets for sale and be more flexible in the numbers we allow to be purchased in a single transaction. For the time being we are selling tickets in multiples of 2 up to a maximum of 6 tickets per transaction. Tickets must only be purchased for single households or support bubbles. This allows us to maximise the use of available space when we plan the event. We are very hopeful that we will be able to remove all restrictions on sales nearer the Festival, but for now we thank you for your cooperation. We are grateful for the assistance received from Elite Marquees, Sefton Tourism plus Southport Flower Show and Victoria Park Events in helping us to make it all happen."
