Gift to Knowsley's community from:- 'Love From Anwyl.'

THERE'S a fresh chance for the Knowsley community to apply for financial support or practical help gifted under the umbrella of:- 'Love From Anwyl.' The homebuilder has already given its support to Incredible Edible Knowsley and Home-Start Knowsley. The company is now reaching out to the community near its Edenhurst Grange development, at Bowring Park, offering to share ₤3,000 via its community funding pot, rebranded Love From Anwyl.

Sales director for Anwyl Homes Lancashire Matthew Gould explained:- "Anwyl is a thoughtful homebuilder and we recognise that we have a part to play in shaping the future of the communities we're building in. As our way of giving back, we're gifting back to the people of Knowsley through the Love From Anwyl initiative. We've already helped support vulnerable families locally with food, toiletries and children's activity packs and funded pathway improvements at Court Hey Park. We're also aware that a lot of good causes have had their fundraising impacted by the Coronavirus Pandemic and we want to know how we can help."

The remaining ₤3,000 in the pot will be released in phases, through a series of grants. The maximum amount that will be paid out to any one project is ₤2,000, but Anwyl may choose to make a greater number of smaller contributions to different organisations rather than a single large sum. There's also the chance to apply for practical support, in the shape of volunteer time or the donation of materials and resources.

Matthew added:- "We want to share the love as widely as possible by lending our support to as many projects as practical. We're also keen to be involved in the community on a practical level and are open to suggestions of how we could volunteer our time. We have a range of different professional skills and some hidden talents that could be put to good use to help locally. We're not afraid of getting our hands dirty, so may be able to help with gardening, painting or minor remedial works. We can offer talks to Schools and youth groups, virtually or in person."

Love From Anwyl is a voluntary scheme attached to 124 new homes being built at Edenhurst Grange. It's in addition to local investment agreed during the planning process, with the latest round of funding released as Anwyl prepares to launch phase 2 of the popular development. For more information about how to apply for Love From Anwyl support, see:- AnwylHomes.Co.UK.  The deadline for submissions for the 1st wave of applications is 11 June 2021.

Southport skatepark improvements ramping up

WORK to install 4 refurbished ramps, at Southport's skatepark, are nearing completion. Specialist skate ramp builders are working between the site and their workshop to refurbish the structures which needed extensive works to replace the specially shaped boards and plates. The installation of the ramps is expected to be completed within the next 3 to 4 weeks.

Mark Shaw, Sefton Council's Green Sefton Service Manager, said:- "We've had lots of local interest in our improvements at the park. Many parents and skaters have been keen to know when the facility will reopen as they're eager to make the most of the lighter evenings and to practice their tricks. They can be reassured that its now only a matter of weeks before they can roll back into the park and slide, grind and flip their way around once again. The skatepark ramps are expertly made structures by industry professionals to ensure the highest quality standards that comply with health and safety rules. As a result, it has taken longer than originally anticipated to complete the refurbishments to this much-loved community asset."

The skatepark opened in 2003 and has undergone inevitable wear and tear repair works every few years as part of Green Sefton's regular maintenance of the facility.
