New state of the art nightclub Alibi opens in Liverpool City Centre

ON 23 July 2021, a brand new nightclub opened promising to bring international DJs to a unique setting. Alibi is opening in Harrington Street, in Liverpool's City Centre, close to Victoria Street and Castle Street. The new club has created over 40 new full and part time jobs in the City, just as other areas in the nigh time industry are loosing jobs.

Alibi boasts a state of the art Bose sound system and a custom lighting setup that will give clubbers a unique experience in the City. The music policy will also be a lot more serious than most of the competition and guest DJs already booked include:- Weiss, Sidney Charles, KC Lights, Leftwing and Kody, Flashmob amongst others.

The club will also feature 12 booths, a stage area and a 2nd more relaxed room. Resident DJ, Rob Cain said:- "I'm made up to be playing at a new nightclub that will be driven by a serious club music policy. I can honestly say in over 20 years of working in nightclubs I have never seen anything as impressive as this in a basement club. It really needs to be seen and most importantly heard to be believed."

General Manager of Alibi John Campbell added:- "People have not been able to go to a nightclub now for nearly 18 months. From March 2020, with the outbreak of the international Pandemic, no area of Hospitality was hit more than nightclubs. So, we are now so happy to finally be open again. Customers will be able to stand up and more importantly dance. Alibi is a concept we have been working on for over 12 months and we can't wait to showcase it to the City as there really is nothing else like it in my opinion."

Liverpool's New Works Theatre Festival Little LTF Hailed A Success

13 new works have been premiered at the inaugural Little LTF outdoor live theatre festival in Liverpool during a week long event, which has been hailed a huge success by organisers. A sister event and new strand to Liverpool Theatre Festival, which was 1st staged in September 2020, Little LTF was launched to champion and showcase new works and rising talent as lockdown restrictions are lifted. The festival ran for seven days between Monday, 12 July and Sunday, 18 July 2021, within the walls at St Luke's Bombed Out Church in the heart of Liverpool City centre; outdoors, but undercover in a specially designed performance space. The event adhered to all required Covid19 guidelines, including:- limited numbers and social distancing. The success of Little LFT comes just 7 weeks before the return of Liverpool Theatre Festival in September which features more mainstream and established acts, artists, and productions. During the week of Little LTF, an impressive 1,200 festival goers experienced 15 performances by 13 companies; resulting in 6 sell out shows.

Due to popular demand, extra performances were also added for ADHD The Musical:- 'Can I Have Your Attention Please?' by Dora Colquhoun and 'The Monkey With No Bum, The Musical' by Asa Murphy.

Little LTF featured:- A Brief Conversation About The Inevitability Of Love by Ian Salmon; Twice Nightly by Michael Alan Bailey and Maria Lovelady; The Forgotten Forest by Becky Brooks; Trapped: 12x8 And String double bill by Oliver Back; This Skin Of Mine by Kai Jolley; Paul Robeson's Love Song: An Audiovisual Experience by Tayo Aluko; ADHD The Musical; Can I Have Your Attention Please? by Dora Colquhoun; Superstar by Carl Rice; Now! The Musical by Anne Taft and David Paul; Tea Time by Graham Edgington; Support Your Local Library; The Rock Opera by Keith Carter and Ruth Cockburn; The Monkey With No Bum; The Musical by Asa Murphy; and 12; The Rainbow Monologues by Grin Theatre Company.

Producer and artistic director Bill Elms commented:- "What an incredible week of live theatre and creativity, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect inaugural Little LTF event. It was a risk adding an additional strand to Liverpool Theatre Festival 2021 especially in these very uncertain times, but we've proved that there is definitely a place for Little LTF in the City and as part of the festival. The programme was magical, diverse, inclusive, exciting, educational, and entertaining; an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Each company presented their new work with complete professionalism, and the calibre of the performances was nothing short of amazing. All shows have the potential to develop and move on to further presentations, and we really hope that those venues who came to see shows will follow up their enthusiasm and interest. It's been an honour to provide the platform to showcase our Region's talent, especially following the year the industry has had to endure. A big thank you must go to festivalgoers who put their trust in the event and venue to provide a safe space. It's now all systems go for the return of Liverpool Theatre Festival in September; the line up is exciting, colourful and vibrant, and more shows will be announced shortly."

Liverpool Theatre Festival was created by Liverpool theatre producer Bill Elms, who stepped in to bring entertainment back to audiences after theatres across the country were ordered to close their doors as part of the 1st Coronavirus lockdown in March 2020. Plans are well underway for the return of the main Liverpool Theatre Festival which runs from Wednesday 1 September to Sunday 12 September 2021. The festival opens with:- 2Gorgeous4U by Mark Davies Markham, followed by:- The Last 5 Years, Everybody's Talking About Musicals, Electric Dreams, Opera Beneath The Stars, Broken Biscuits, Laughterhouse Comedy, and Something About George; The George Harrison Story. More shows will be announced shortly.

Liverpool Theatre Festival is sponsored by Falconer Chester Hall, and supported by Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatres and dBS Solutions. For more information and tickets, please visit:- LiverpoolTheatreFestival.com for the latest news updates.
