GCSE Results Day Celebrations

GCSE students at Hugh Baird College have been celebrating as they collect their results and begin making preparations for their next step. After months of patiently waiting, today students received results that allowed them to progress to either Further Education, an apprenticeship, Higher Education or even their career.

Connor Green, Hugh Baird 14 to 16 College student achieved a double 9 at GCSE Science, and 7 in Maths, said:- "I'm really happy the results I've received today. I had a great time at the 14 to 16 College, the support I've had from the tutors and staff has been incredible. My next step is studying A-Levels at the College's South Sefton Campus and from there I hope to go onto University and study a degree in Mechanical Engineering."

Zoe Sewell, who studied GCSE English Language on a part time basis, said:- "I am over the moon that I achieved an 8 in GCSE English Language and a 4 in Maths. It took me a long time to get to this position as I decided to return to education to complete my GCSEs, so that I can pursue my dream of becoming a midwife via an Access to Higher Education course.  The support from my tutors has been amazing, I have huge respect for the help they have given me to achieve my results."

Samantha Webley, who studied GCSE English Language, said:- "The support at Hugh Baird College has been brilliant. When we entered online learning during the Pandemic lockdowns, the tutors really helped everyone adjust. I am so delighted to have achieved my GCSE English as I can now go onto to study Health and Social Care at Hugh Baird College."

Rachael Hennigan, Hugh Baird College Principal and Chief Executive, said:- "I am really proud of all of our students. This year we have seen a tremendous commitment from our students to their studies. We can see how much their hard work has paid off through the brilliant BTEC and GCSE results that have come from Hugh Baird College. Everyone at the College wish our students every success as they embark on their journey towards their future."
