All stars take on Matilda FC in charity football match to raise funds for sick children in Liverpool

MATILDA FC will take on an all-star team to raise money to provide children in Alderhey Children's Hospital with presents at Christmas. A sparkling line up of celebrities will swap the red carpet for the football pitch as they grace Whitton Albion FC's U lock it Stadium on Sunday, October 31, to support the Matilda Foundation. Those looking to beat Matilda FC in the forthcoming charity match include:- Love Island's Brad Mcclelland, Josh Ritchie and Callum Mcleod, YouTuber Harry Pinero and TOWIE stars Dan Osborne and Jake Hall.

Alongside them will be:- Comedian Man Like Haks, The Real Housewives of Cheshire cast member Joe Sealey and reality TV Star Calum Best, who is also the son of late Manchester United legend George Best.

Joining them on the pitch are Britain's Got Talent Semi Finalist, Jeremy Lynch, 2015 Celebrity Big Brother Winner James Hill, The Call Centre Star Nev Wilshire and Actor Aaron Sidwell, who is best known for playing Steven Beale in EastEnders.

All of the celebrities are subject to work commitments.

Established last year, the family of Matilda Cosgrove set up the Matilda Foundation in memory of their stillborn daughter.

They have now set their sights on raising essential funds to help other sick children who are admitted to Alderhey Children's Hospital, which on average treats 330,000 poorly children each year.

Matt Greenway, who approached Sellebrity Soccer to host a match for the Matilda Foundation said:- "To be helping both Mark & Stacie reach their goals and raising awareness of the Matilda Foundation is an honour. Having children myself and seeing what they've been through gave me the urge to help them even more. I'd never met Mark or Stacie before but hearing the story from my mother in law who works with Stacie made me want to help them in any way that I could."

The event has been organised by Sellebrity Soccer, which was launched in 2012 to help charities raise money by arranging all star football matches across the UK.

Sellebrity Soccer's Co-Founder Kevin Cooper said:- "We are proud to jump on board to help Matilda's family raise vital funds to help improve the lives of the children who are admitted to Alderhey Children's Hospital."

The game will kick off at 3pm on Sunday, 31 October 2021, however fans can enter the Stadium from 1pm.

Tickets cost ₤12 for adults and ₤6 for under 16s and OAPs.

Support Marie Curie with spring planting this autumn

END of life charity, Marie Curie, is encouraging people in Southport to start preparing for the National Day of Reflection 2022 by planting spring bulbs and seeds this autumn. Individuals, Schools and organisations up and down the country are taking part in the spring planting to show their support for Marie Curie and the National Day of Reflection. The flowers will bloom in time for the day, on 23 March 2022, in a sign of hope for a brighter future. The National Day of Reflection is a day to support the millions of people who've been bereaved during the Pandemic, and to reflect on the lives of family, friends, neighbours and colleagues who have died from Covid or other causes. The day is a time to pause, reflect and support each other whether of any belief or none.

Florist, Author and TV Presenter Simon Lycett is backing Marie Curie's spring planting call. He shares:- "I hope everyone, no matter the size of their out door space, and even inside, will plant a Spring Bulb for the National Day of Reflection and support Marie Curie. You can't beat the feeling that Spring flowering bulbs, like my favourites the daffodils, bring after the dark days of winter. When those first shoots awaken and burst through the soil you feel your mood lift at this sign of new growth and look forward to the year ahead and what it will bring. We've all had a difficult year to reflect back on, many of us devastated by the death of a loved one, and I can't think of a better way to reflect on this grief than in the simple act of planting a bulb, restoring our hope for better times to come."

Gina, Community Fundraiser, said:- "For many, the deep trauma of losing loved ones during Covid is still very real. I hope the community will be inspired to plant a spring bulb or sow seeds ready to bloom for the National Day of Reflection and show their support for Marie Curie. The National Day of Reflection on 23 March 2022 will be an opportunity to come together to support the millions of people bereaved during the Pandemic and remember the people we've lost."
