ON 30 October 2020, UK cinemas will be screening of a multi award winning independent film, that is the debut feature film from young Writer and Director Guy Davies, called:- "Philophobia." This production was Set and filmed in his home town of Stroud in the Gloucestershire countryside it is an authentic coming of age romance rooted in experience. So what is the connection to this film and Liverpool, other than it will be showing at the Showcase de Lux Liverpool and the REEL Widnes, from the 30 October 2020...? This theatrical release is described as a scary, funny, violent and raw portrayal of an age where teens are caught between the life they have known and the life they have yet to discover. The story starts with 1 week of School remains for the lead character, Kai, an aspiring writer. It then follows him and his friends, looking at how they spend their remaining time as school kids, that will cost 1 of them their life and leave the rest changed forever.

If the name, Philophobia and it's meaning:- 'fear of falling in love' doesn't grab your attention, the fact it has won 12 awards on the festival circuit including:- San Diego International Film, Best Cinematography, at the European Cinematography Awards, Best Feature Film, at Lift Off, Melbourne Film Festival, Best Feature Film, at the Lift Off Global Film Awards in London, Best Film and Best Director, at the International Film Festival Wales, should make you take note!

This film is what British cinema is all about and offers a glimpse of the fantastic works still to come from this group of actors and crew. If you can visit the Cinema, please do show your support and pop in to see it. It's also a fully independent film, no Government or grant money or studio backing…  So it might not have the advertising budget or the big names of some of the major blockbusters you might expect to see on at the likes of Showcase Cinemas, but you will not be disappointed...
