Businesses worried as  many ask:- "Will England's lockdown be extended past June 21?"

THE event, tourism, arts and media industries, within the UK are still in limdo, with many firms who have already been hit hard by the Pandemic fearing the worst. Currently we are hearing that Government is expected to receive approval from MPs to extend measures within the Coronavirus Act, as scientists call to:- "delay June 21 freedoms by a few weeks" in order to stop new Covid variants. Ministers have said that a decision on whether the go ahead for the lockdown to be fully lifted, in England, on 21 June 2021 will fundamentally be driven by a realistic reassessment of the data. The latest decision on whether we meet the requirements to hit the target will will be made on 14 June 2021. Many within the arts, media and tourism industries, this is even more worrying, as many have had very little or no support, and for those who have kept afloat, they could now easily fall at the very last hurdle. As we all await to hear if restrictions will be lifted or not, businesses are calling for reassurance they will not be left picking up the bill. Many businesses are also worried that the UK Government has pushed many into debit, with loans, like the bounce back loan, being a huge cause of concern. Especially as many banks now pushing for repayment plans to be set up. The latest Covid19 data being shown to Ministers and officials it is not looking good for the final stage of lockdown easing in England to happen. Sadly, the rates are going up again. At this point there hasn't been a huge surge in hospitalisation, as a significant number of those infected appear to be younger people who are now out and mixing, but haven't had the vaccine. But this is the danger as the more the virus circulates, the higher the risk of a mutation that is resistant to the vaccination evolving. Yet for many, any added delays might mean it will not be economically viable for them to continue, especially for many event businesses that rely on capacity crowds.  But we absolutely can not ignore the risks of posed by mutant variants of Coronavirus, especially as numbers are already climbing again.  Please do let us know your thoughts on this problem.
