More fines to be issued to those not following Covid19 restrictions

YET again the Government has been criticised for been slow to act on enforcement of those not following Covid19 restrictions. The Government in England reviled plans for tougher penalties for those braking Coronavirus rules at the start of August, but up to now haven't acted on it.

Following a massive rise in the numbers of illegal raves, the Government has finally chosen to issue fines to organize of the illegal raves. Police in England from Friday will have powers to fines of up to ₤10,000 and confiscate equipment being used at gatherings of more than 30 people. Also, those attending gatherings will also face a fine of ₤100 for first offence then doubling on each offence up to ₤3,200. This comes on top of the existing powers the Police currently have in England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can and have set their own enforcement rules.

The Government in England have also announced that, those who fail to follow mask/face covering rules within areas where it is mandatory can also be fined ₤100 doubling on each offence up to ₤3,200. Again, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can and have set their own enforcement rules.
