- Southport Air
Show 2003... Take OFF!
AS
the 12 Southport Air Show took off, spectators battled agonized the
elements.
Saturday’s numbers of visitors dropped due to the weather,
but on Sunday the figures were back up again.
Despite the dreadful weather the spectators and exhibitors
were in good spirit as breathtaking aerobatic displays swooped
across the mainly silver gray sky.
Air Show organizers have announced a continued partnership
with the forces to create one of the biggest air show and military
displays in the country. Already the mock live fire event that sees
the air force and army creating simulated battle on the beach has
been a huge crowd winner.
Although the weather on Saturday made it unsafe
for the parachute team, the Falcons, to jump from a Hercules
aircraft, it was carried out successfully and we have exclusive
photographs and report on that jump. (Click
Here). Other
attractions included the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Jets,
and wing walkers and model Aircraft, even a Space Rocket!
