THE SPAM ON YOUR PHONE THAT COSTS YOU CASH IF CALLED!

EMAIL and now to your phone…. We are being bombarded by scams all the time. The latest hit last week and has been over all UK mobile phone networks. The scam arrives as a text message on your mobile, saying, "You have 1 new voicemail message. Please call 0871 712 0 429 to listen to it" and it is sent from that number.

You Have 1 New Voicemail Message. Please Call 0871 712 0 429 to listen to it.

When you ring it up it tells you that they are your phone operators and that you have won a prize. As it is telling you this, your bill is going skyward, as it creeps up at around £1.00 a minute or more! It does not tell you how to claim with out calling, yes you guessed it, yet another premium number. We contacted trading standards and the phone operators, all of them said that they are investigating the problem and asked us to tell customers not to call the numbers. They stress it is not from any phone operator and should be deleted if received.
