Doubt (Parr Street Studios)
By Dominic Bonner
BANDS that gain cult status are often subversive and manic as the past has told us from many generations. But the brand of music that Liverpool based L20 bring, verges on the cult of greats of the future as opposed to the past.

Already with a cult following countrywide, these young scallywags from Liverpool produce a remarkably mature sound to their release with Doubt as the opening soft melody that seduces irresistibly, and perhaps an anthem of rock.

An air of alternative rock follows the proceeding tracks with mixed sounds of Hendrix, The Beatles and surprisingly singing holds a sound of Paul Weller from Lol Halliday, conjures refinement.

The band show even more promise with ‘Auto Frequency By-pass’ gives the listener an opportunity to relax into a nineties festival sound and recount many memories with the forgiveness along with it, carrying a strong and flawless sound.

There may be a spear of destiny about them regarding their music and how U2 went about getting to where they are today - certainly a band to watch for the future.
