- SEARCH FOR NEW STORE IN WIRRAL TO SET THE TASTE OF ITALY
DOMINO’S Pizza, the world's leading pizza delivery company and leading retail property acquirer in the UK & Ireland, is looking to open a new store in Wirral as part of its plans to open 50 new stores within the next year.
Despite owning and operating over 320 stores in the UK and Ireland, 60 per cent of the population still lives in an area where a Domino's pizza cannot be delivered.
The location for the new pizza parlour is yet to be established. But the new store is expected to create thirty new jobs in full and part time positions within the company.
Colin Jarrold, Domino's Property Acquisition Manager, comments:- "Finding appropriate properties in our target locations is essential if Domino's is to realise its expansion plans.
Last year we opened a record number of stores and want to build on this success in 2004 by continuing our search for suitable properties across the UK and Ireland. Being at the heart of a vibrant community is a key to our success and Wirral is an ideal location for a new store."

Security with a friendly face for Tranmere
Alliance
THE country’s newest
Community Foundation has given a big helping hand to Tranmere
Alliance, one of the Wirral’s most prestigious community resource
centres.
Officially launched on April 1, The Community Foundation for Merseyside has
awarded £500 on behalf of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company 500 Fund to
help the Alliance buy state-of-the-art security for their office windows.
Their traditional grey pull-down shutters have been replaced by see-through,
yet secure grilles which offer the same protection but still allow the local
community to access information and jobs boards outside the 11am - 3pm daily
opening hours.
Manager Justine Burns said:- “Although the drab-looking window shutters
prevented break-ins, they also cut off the public from our services. We’re all about helping the community with the various services that we offer and, even when we are closed, we still want people to have access to our services."
Based on Church Road, Tranmere, the registered charity would not have been
able to finance the new shutters without the help of The Community
Foundation. But after recent complaints about the shutters, the charity has now overcome this recent problem to allow 24-hour access.
The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company is Britain's second largest port
group. The company set up the 500 Fund, which is managed by The Community
Foundation, to enable smaller charities in the area to access financial
support. Grants of up to £500 are available.
