HOGWARTS AND ALL IN LIVERPOOL & HARRY POTTER IN SOUTHPORT?

HARRY POTTER descended upon the Phantom Picton and Haunted Hornby libraries on William Brown Street, Liverpool yesterday to celebrate the release of the latest film, 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'.

Themed competitions and activities for children during the afternoon including live owls, magicians, magic shows and crafts added to the spice of the event as parents and children dressed up in their favourite Potter character costumes.

Central Library manager Kathy Johnson said:- "JK Rowling's Harry Potter series is consistently one of our most popular books, and the themed days before have proved to be extremely well attended by both children and adults alike."

Not to be left out... in Southport's Vue Cinema, staff had a surprise as two of their members dressed up  for Bank Holiday's showings of the Film.  One of them extraordinarily like Harry Potter him self though....  very strange?

FLAG COMPETITION EXTENDS VOTING FOR LIVERPOOL SCHOOLS TO WIN SPORTS CASH

FOLLOWING a number of requests from schools for more time to finish designing their flags, the deadline for the Eurocamp Olympic Flag School Competition has been extended until the 15 June.

This popular competition is giving schools in Liverpool additional time to submit their entries and be in with a chance to win £1,500 of sports equipment

In celebration of the Olympic Games being held this August in Athens, Eurocamp has invited Liverpool primary schools to enter a special Olympic themed competition and design a flag that represents either their school or local community.

Students are being encouraged to let their creativity run wild and can enter anything from a painting or collage to an actual flag. Flags can be submitted from individuals, classes or a whole school.

A host of sporting prizes are up for grabs, including a top prize of £1,500 worth of schools sports equipment, plus a free family holiday to one of Eurocamp's 185 parcs across Europe.

Entry packs have been sent to primary schools across Liverpool. For further information about the competition or to request a school's pack visit call James Woollard/Paul Wheeler on 0161 238 9400.
