The first Liverpool Triathlon

ORGANISERS of Liverpool's first ever triathlon said they were delighted with its success and added that they hoped to make it an annual event. The event was broadcast on BBC Grandstand and the glorious late summer weather
and the city must have look stunning to TV viewers and to the
thousands of spectators who lined the course. The race took place around the Liverbuildings and around the Albert Dock. The event sore racers plunging into the Albert Dock and swimming then cycling around the city. Then if that was not enough, they then run around the dock once more!
Liverpool City Council's executive member for leisure, sport and culture, Cllr Warren Bradley, said afterwards:-
"It was a superb start to want is hoped to be a annual event."
