- Giant Yoko Ono Art displayed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport
AS part of the Liverpool Biennial 2004, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is exhibiting a new commission by Yoko Ono, which is displayed on three giant 48 sheet poster sites throughout the terminal building.
The posters show a woman's breast and is part of Yoko Ono's new commission entitled,
"My Mummy Was Beautiful, 2004", which consists of two images - close-up photographs of sections of a woman's body depicting a child's eye view of the mother's body.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is delighted to be able to help promote the third Liverpool Biennial and to display this particular commission because of the Airport's close links with Yoko Ono following the renaming to John Lennon Airport two years ago.
Neil Pakey, Liverpool John Lennon Airport's Managing Director Commented:-
"The Airport has previously helped to bring art to the public by displaying works to passengers. This new commission by Yoko Ono is a continuation of such promotions ahead of the City's Capital of Culture status in 2008 and we are pleased to be able to assist the organisers of the Liverpool Biennial to promote their festival."
