“DON'T lose your right to vote” urges The Electoral Commission
Voters in the North West are being reminded by The Electoral Commission to ensure their details are correct on the electoral register this Autumn.
The annual canvass of electors is currently underway and every household in England will receive a registration form through their door. The names of all eligible voters in a household should be on this form. Any missing or incorrect information should be corrected, and completed forms returned to local authorities in the pre-paid envelope provided by mid November.
Households that do not receive a form by the end of October should contact the returning officer at their local authority. Contact details for local authorities can be found on the Commission’s easy-to-use website

Each year on 1 December, following the autumn annual canvass, a new version of the electoral register is published. Electors can only vote if their name is on the register.
Names can be added later to the electoral register on a monthly basis through rolling registration, allowing those who have moved house to update their details at any point during the year. An online electoral registration form can be downloaded from
www.aboutmyvote.co.uk.
Becky Lloyd, campaigns manager at The Electoral Commission, says:- “Politics affects every aspect of our lives, from the food we eat and the hours we work to local facilities for our children and the state of our streets. We are urging people to make sure they are registered so they don’t lose their right to vote.”
