SOUTHPORT Theatre on November 20 was home a 1,000 plus audience, who had flocked to the resort to see the National Final of the Search For A Star Competition 2004.
The British Resorts Association who organised the event, hailed this year as a huge success. The
competition is now the oldest running event of its type in the UK. The final was planned a year in advance by Sefton Council and ABD Productions, who put hours of hard work before and during event. This year's title of Winner of the Search For A Star 2004 National went to a 18 year old from Hull. You could see from her amazing performance that Jade Adams is destined for a great career in show business. Performing in a glittering dress and with equally dazzling display of vocal talent she sung the judges into putting her as number one. In second place was 17 year old Plymouth singer, Ryan Jenkins, with a Welsh singer, Daniel Hughes in third position.
Popular ITV's Heartbeat actor David Lonsdale was one of the judges. He said:-
"Southport has put on a fantastic show and all the contestants
where amazing. Jade has the X Factor. She had quality which drew your eyes to her and a great voice."
