ALDER HEY LINK UP FOR LOCAL COMPANY
TO celebrate the opening of their new Liverpool ductshop, Senior Hargreaves, the Bury based trade supplier of ventilation products, has announced a charitable link with Alder Hey Children's Hospital. To symbolise the relationship, Hargreaves has created a Tin Man, which will be a key feature in a themed garden at the hospital.
The depot was officially opened by the Mayor of Sefton, Councillor Clifford Mainey and his wife Sylvia on Thursday 2 December. The Mayor and Mayoress revealed the stainless steel sculpture in a dramatic unveiling. Hargreaves' Liverpool ductshop will be an active sponsor of Alder Hey over 2005 and the company has pledged a minimum £3000 cash support for the hospital.
Ductshop general manager, Phil Johnson, explained:- "In setting up our new branch in Liverpool we were keen to become involved with the local community. The Alder Hey sponsorship allows us to show that commitment in a tangible way. One of our main products is spiral ductwork and our initial thoughts were to create a spiromonster to record our sponsorship of the hospital. It was staff at Alder Hey who suggested the Tin Man. Because this will become a permanent feature, we thought it only fitting to make the sculpture in stainless
steel".
The Tin Man will be on display at Hargreaves Ductshop at Maritime Enterprise Park in Bootle until the new location in the hospital is ready.
