Gale Force Winds

THE UK had a stormy start to the year as high winds and gusts of wind over 90 miles an hour, driving rain and hailstones hit the nation. Thankfully no live were lost on Merseyside.   In between the massive gusts of winds, squalls played havoc to the clear up.  On Merseyside Southport Railway Station's roof was pealed “like a tin of spam” one of the station staff told us on Saturday 8 January.   Many roads where blocked by fallen trees all over Merseyside and train and bus service affected.  These are a few shots the damage and of the clear up on the Saturday.
