CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide celebrates its 35th anniversary
THE 35th
edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide, which lists the best 4,500 real
ale pubs and includes detailed information on all of the 640 plus
breweries in the UK, will be released on Wednesday, 12 September
2007.
The Good Beer Guide is the only pub guide which is annually surveyed
by CAMRA’s beer loving membership, so the reader can be assured of
the most up to date information on outstanding pubs to find a pint
of real ale in the UK.
Good Beer Guide editor Roger Protz said:- “CAMRA’s Good Beer
Guide is an indispensable travel companion for every discerning beer
drinker and pub-goer. Each pub is inspected and researched by
CAMRA’s members who have spent months finding the best 4,500 pubs
for British pub lovers to enjoy.”
Mr Protz continued:- “The guide celebrates its 35th
anniversary this year and this main this success is down to the
surveying of the CAMRA members who keep the book fresh and
up-to-date. There are over 1,200 new pub entries and more than 50
new breweries in the 2008 edition so I am pleased to say the real
ale revolution goes on!”
LRD
publishes employment rights guide in Polish
THE
independent research and publications organisation Labour Research
Department (LRD) has published its first Polish-language employment
rights guide.
The 24 page guide Prawo w pracy – twoje uprawnienia (Law at work –
know your rights) has been published in response to requests from
trade unions for information on employment rights for their Polish
members.
The guide sets out workers’ key employment rights in the UK
including their right to join a trade union. It provides information
on: agency workers; contracts of employment; pay; maternity leave
and pay; working parents and carers; disciplinary and grievance
procedures; health and safety; and discrimination.
Last year the LRD was commissioned to produce a series of workers’
rights leaflets in Polish by the GMB general union’s southern
region. Several major unions expressed a need for something similar
and the LRD has produced the 24 page Prawo w pracy – twoje
uprawnienia (Law at work – know your rights) to meet the demand.
Prawo w pracy – twoje uprawnienia (Law at work – know your rights)
is published on 10 September 2006, priced £2.90. It is available
from LRD, 78 Blackfriars Road, London SE1 8HF, tel 020 7928 3649, or
online.
