Tour of Britain Cycle Race on Merseyside
THE Liverpool
and Kendal leg of the Tour of Britain Cycle Race, Britain’s leading
professional cycle race, whizzed through Merseyside on Friday 14
September 2007.
Peter Mearns, Director of Marketing at the Northwest
Regional Development Agency said:- “England’s Northwest has an
enviable record for hosting major sporting and cultural events,
bringing huge economic benefits to the region.
The NWDA is pleased to support this exhilarating race, which brings
increasing numbers of spectators every year to enjoy the spectacular
scenery of the Northwest and highlights the region’s potential for
cycle tourism.”
We snapped them halfway through Merseyside as they passed Formby on
the Formby Bypass.
