Local Mum Alex Mixes Up Sweet Smell Of Success...
THIS was an unusual event for us
to cover, but when the phone went and we got asked to pop on over to
Liverpool's St John's Centre, to a celebrity launch, at the
Liverpool's 'The Perfume Shop', how could we say no.
The event was to mark the launch of local mum of two's new
fragrance... This was no ordinary local mum, it was the stunning
Alex Curran, wife of football legend Steven Gerrard who in
conjunction with the UK's favourite celebrity title 'OK'
have made a fantastic blend of senses, that is set to be a huge hit
for Christmas.

Alex, who was 25 years old and attended Maghull High School told us
that:- "I never thought I would have made a perfume, but when
the magazine, 'OK', contacted me, I thought that it would be a
fantastic opportunity. I loved the idea of making a perfume
and I have been instrumental in the production of the fragrance and
also the presentation bottle, packaging and its colour. I picked the
pink colour as it is very feminine and the bold black shapes to
create a dynamic and stylish look to the overall effect of the
packaging. The colour of the perfume it's self, I picked a light
pink colour to match the packaging. My faience I think smells
of fresh citrus, bergamot, vanilla, powder musk, Tonka bean and a
hint of rose. The Tonka reminds me of my childhood and is a
blend of smells like almonds and cinnamon. This is the type of smell
I use in my home over Christmas and it is my favourite time of year.
Making this perfume I hope will let me put in to the air my feelings
of joy and warmth. Vanilla reminds me of being a little girl,
milkshakes and ice-cream... You could say a fragrance fall all times
of the year."
What fascinated me was the massive cue
that built up out side the shop. Young and old, who where all
waiting for a chance to get to meet her and to obtain her autograph,
but more importantly her perfume.
We will be adding exclusive audio
coverage very soon to this page, so keep an eye on it.
