MAN TRAPPED INSIDE A GIANT 7FT PINT GLASS HIGHLIGHTS CONSEQUENCES OF DRINK DRIVING THIS CHRISTMAS

Trapped inside is convicted drink driver Luke Noon...

THINK!, the Government’s road safety campaign, has produced a giant replica pint glass with a man ‘trapped’ inside, to show how drinking and driving can come between you and Christmas. The glass toured the country and reached Church Street in Liverpool, on Thursday, 20 December 2007, to highlight the dire consequences of drink driving.

The 7ft-tall glass of beer might be a dream for many men, but for the thousands of people caught drink driving every year, a quick drink after work turns into a living nightmare.

More people are stopped and breathalysed in December than at any other time of the year and the UK's penalties for drink driving are amongst the toughest in Europe. Anyone caught over the limit will lose their licence and get a criminal record at the very minimum.

DID YOU KNOW... the Association of Chief Police Officers recorded 145,867 roadside tests in December 2006, 9,658 of which were found to be over the legal limit.
