Collision - The Line
ON the bitterly cold and windy

of LIPA; Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, took to the streets

borders, the link, re-uniting, connecting different communities and
building bridges.” Collision, “discover dance
differently”, are a Northwest based dance company,

physical and original work.” Under the artistic direction of

Local bands gets nominated for a national music award
LOCAL Band Triphazard has been
put forward for the 'The Indy Music Awards 2008'. The
awards are not a competition. The organisation running The INDY
Music Awards was set up in early 2007 to recognise and honour the
hard work of independent live music venues, promoters and the
artists they showcase. The aim is to help them develop. The awards
don't offer prizes and they don't exploit the artists’ fan base by
charging for voting, unlike some. Also, interestingly, artists
themselves cannot enter as they must be nominated by live music
venues or promoters. Last year 218 artists were nominated out of an
estimated 40,000, who played at participating venues, and this year
the figure is just as high, if not higher.
Holborn Studios who run the awards say that:- "We believe
strongly as does the industry, in the importance of 'live'
performance. The INDY Music Awards identify the top 0.5% of artists
currently on the live music circuit. To be nominated for an award is
a major achievement in itself and we invest a considerable amount of
time and resource in highlighting the awards, participating
promoters and venues and the nominated, shortlisted and winning
artists to the public at large and the music industry in general.
The credibility and sustainability of the awards are directly
related to the quality and future success of the artists, who we
help identify, reward and promote."
Triphazard’s founding member, Stef Stokes, told us that:-
"We're all thrilled as it came as a huge surprise to us to be on
this list. The band has been working so hard achieving the title of
Juice FM's Next Big Thing 2007 and in November 2007 we got to number
one spot on 4Unsigned on the Channel Four website. We know we have
been getting a lot of attention as of late, as we have even had a
radio station in Las Vegas interview us! None of that can compare to
this as it has really come out of the blue. We only found out a few
days ago that we had been put forward. If we get this, it would be
just amazing."
To vote for the band and help them though to the next stage of this
competition, by logging onto the voting
webpage.
Letters to the Editor:- "Christian Theme Park"
"WE have received over two
thousand letters and emails from our December Press Release and it
became clear that a lot of people have a bizarre understanding of
exactly what we are trying to accomplish.
The Trustees and members of the AHTrust do not get paid, nor do they
receive any benefits from the building and the running of the
Christian Theme Park. The facts are, they are prepared to give their
valuable time and money to train youngsters in all aspects of the
Media, and provide jobs to the local community.
The shops and cafeteria within the complex will not only provide
jobs, they will be run by local business people as stated in the
Annual Report. Also mentioned in the Report between the lines was
the WOW factor.
Originally the Trustees favoured locating the Christian Theme Park
at Blackpool. Blackpool’s first WOW factor came with the building of
the Tower. The second WOW factor came with the building of the Big
Dipper, followed by Blackpool’s famous illuminations. It was our
intention to bring the fourth WOW factor to Blackpool by designing
the World’s first 3D Cinematic Hologram Theme Park.
Some people say, before you die you should experience swimming with
Dolphins; we would like to add another sensational experience to
this list, namely to walk and talk with a hologram. If you have
never done this, it will freak you out.
The people behind this new concept in the 70s, a decade before the
Desk Top Computer had been invented, and before Microsoft ever
thought of Windows, successfully stored the whole Bible on a floppy
disk. Today, the Bible is stored on a 600 Mega byte CD, plus all the
modern day technology. In the 70s, all we had was a 720 kbyte floppy
disk! Can you imagine what this team can do with the present day new
technology and unlimited computer power?
One of the things they have developed with advanced technology not
presently used, is a new Television Studio. For example, if you were
to film another James Bond film in this country, one would need the
large Pine Wood Studios to house all the sets… the size equivalent
to two aircraft hangers. The new Studio could produce the same James
Bond film in a building the size of one large room. This is the
basis and the main design feature behind the Theme Park and allows
everything to be housed in a building the size of an aircraft
hanger.
The bottom floor has a large Reception area leading to the
Television Studio, Lecture Rooms, and three exhibition centres
containing 3D cinematic holograms. We are presently designing a
Babylon Centre, a Genesis Centre and a Scientific Centre.
The Scientific Centre will be a must see for all science teachers
and pupils. The Babylon Centre will bring alive this ancient culture
for archaeologists and those interested in ancient history. It will
be of special interest to visitors from the Middle East. The Genesis
Centre is to be based on documentation found in the Public Domain a
thousand years before Moses put pen to paper. In Bible terms, the
documentation covers the first ten chapters of Genesis.
In short, the Theme Park has been designed to entertain everyone
(all Nations on this Earth including Muslims, Jews, Christians,
Evolutionists and Atheists etc.) in a relaxed atmosphere.
We are at a loss to understand why some people fear the Bible. The
Bible is a book, it cannot hurt you. This book is banned in schools,
removed from hotels even though it does not harm anyone. By reading
a cookery book does not make you a Chef. Likewise, you can read the
Bible without becoming a Christian. The Bible contains a wealth of
archaeological and scientific information. The Bible is not the
cause for the present day bloodshed in the Middle East. The AHTrust
is non-denominational and is prepared to help anybody to study the
Bible.
People have commented about the Christian Theme Park in the USA, and
have wrongly assumed the Christian Theme Park to be located in the
North West will be the same.
The USA version contains static models of the Ark and Dinosaurs etc,
and they charge a $20 entrance fee. The Christian Theme Park we
propose will be free to visitors and will include two Cinema Screens
showing the programs made at the Studio, plus Christian Films.
Finally, the AHTrust needs each Church / Congregation / Synagogue /
Mosque in the North West to nominate one person to be in attendance
on a rota basis should a visitor require their assistance. Without
this vital voluntary support and without Council backing in finding
a suitable 20 acre site, we will not be in a position to bring an
Investor on board." Peter Jones CEng.BSc
