STARSTRUCK TRAINEES WANTED IN LIVERPOOL
ANYONE
interested in working on a professional feature film about to start
shooting in Liverpool, is being urged to apply for one of four
fabulous, paid, training placements. Northwest Vision and
Media, which works on behalf of the TV, film, radio and digital
content industries, has arranged for 4, exclusive, paid placements
on the feature film, Starstruck, which is about to start shooting in
the city as part of the prestigious Digital Departures initiative.
Digital Departures is Vision and Media’s micro-budget feature film
scheme, which recently announced that three fully-funded feature
films are to be made in Liverpool, with plans to premiere the movies
during Capital of Culture celebrations.
“We’ve only just been given the go-ahead to offer these
wonderful opportunities to people who want to build on previous
experience gained in TV or short film. It’s not every day crew get
the chance to work on a feature film, so we’re sure these placements
on Starstruck will be highly prized.” explains Helen
Bingham, Head of Production for Vision and Media.
Starstruck is a dark drama following 2 Liverpool teenage girls,
obsessed with a young premiership footballer, as they lure him to a
caravan for a night of passion, but things don’t play out quite how
they imagine.
“This is a fantastic initiative and offers the ultimate
opportunity for four talented individuals to gain real feature film
experience,” says Helen. “We’re looking for
trainees in costume, editing, camera and the art department, who
will each gain valuable on-the-job training, as well as developing
specific occupational skills. The successful individuals will
have the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the
various roles and processes involved in micro-budget feature film
production, as well as a chance to gain personal development and an
opportunity to build relationships with key people within the
industry.” commented Helen.
Digital Departures was set up by Northwest Vision and Media to
establish Liverpool and the Northwest as the centre of micro-budget
feature film production in Europe.
“This training programme has been put together to compliment
the Digital Departures initiative and offer crew who have worked on
short film or TV drama the opportunity of working on their first
feature,” added Helen.
All placements will be based in Liverpool.
