Good Friday Walk of Witness & Service 08
FORMBY
Churches Together organised the annual Good Friday Walk Of Witness
and service in Formby Village centre on 21 March 2008.
Against a background of an astounding
variety of weather conditions from hail and wind to warm sunshine,
around 300 people were present. The speaker was the Rt Rev. David
Jennings Bishop of Warrington, who emphasised the importance of
defending Christian ideals and holding the Lent fast.
Opening prayers and the conclusion were
offered by Bruni Jones, intervening prayers were offered by Rev.
Harvey Nichol, who has recently appointed Vicar of St Luke's.
Readings were given by David Gelder and Dympna Edwards. Melodious
solos were given by talented singer Kristen Finnegan.
After the service concluded drinks and
hot cross buns were made available in the Holy Trinity meeting room,
which provided a welcome chance to warm up.
