Tour of Britain Cycle Race 08
AFTER 84 km from Blackpool, this
year’s Tour of Britain Cycle Race had a further 1 km of six laps in
an exciting circuit at the heart of the city as the riders battled
for overall victory. The race finish was on The Strand, under the
shadow one of Liverpool’s ‘Three Graces’, the Liver
Building, which, makes up part of the city’s iconic waterfront.
The skill and determination of the
riders was obvious to the spectators. The courage of those who
unfortunately had an accident near St George’s Hall was applauded by
the spectators there. The speed of help and assistance ministered to
them by their support team was exceptional.
It was a spectacle enjoyed by all. So we
say well done to the Riders, the support teams, the stewards and the
organisers. We look forward to seeing the race again next
year.
