Movie Booth DVD kiosk launches on Merseyside
FOLLOWING on
from the positive initial reception to an automated DVD rental kiosk
in Spar, Formby, a second Movie Booth is launching in Southport next
week at the Spar store on Liverpool Road. The launch is aiming to
take advantage in the growing popularity of ‘Big Nights In’
as
opposed to the traditional night on the town.
The DVD kiosk concept has so far received an excellent response from
the people of Formby since launching on Green Lane in May, and on
the back of this The Movie Booth has decided to add another kiosk to
the region to serve consumer demand.
DVD rental machines are experiencing a steady growth in the
ever-changing industry, and The Movie Booth kiosks operate using
advanced robotics making the rental of movies a fully automated
experience for the customer. The kiosks placed in the Spar stores in
Merseyside are expected to form the basis of the roll-out of
multiple kiosks across the North West. Spar Formby’s Movie Booth has
proved popular with customers looking for a cost-effective,
convenient way to rent DVD’s.
The launch of the new kiosk will allow all new users to claim their
first rental for free until the end of October, and the kiosk will
be updated with the latest new release movies on a weekly basis, and
ongoing rentals at the kiosk will be charged at £2.99 for twenty
four hours. As part of the launch, Britain’s Next Top Model finalist
Charlotte Denton will be giving demonstrations on how to use the
kiosk during its first weeks of deployment.
John Youssef, who is overseeing the deployment of DVD kiosks on
Merseyside said:- “The Formby kiosk has started extremely
well, as I knew it would, so we have decided not to waste any time
in getting the next one set up. We hope to launch two more by the
end of 2008. We will again be offering the first night rental free
to get people used to renting films from the machine.“ |
ARE
YOU BETTER OFF ON THE BUS?
SOARING fuel
prices, higher road tax and increasing car park charges have all
been hitting drivers in their wallets. Now local bus company Arriva
North West and Wales is set to conduct a study in Liverpool to
examine the actual differences in costs between travelling by car
and bus.
Arriva North West and Wales is looking for a number of Liverpool
commuters to take part in the exercise and is offering free bus
travel for those who agree to complete the challenge.
Anyone who would like to become involved in the initiative can
request further information by contacting the Arriva North West and
Wales team on
comparison@arriva.co.uk.
Nick Gordon, marketing manager for Arriva North West and Wales,
said:- “In the current economic climate, people are
increasingly watching what they are spending and we believe that
buses offer a way for people to reduce their travel costs.
Buses offer great value for people travelling in and out of towns
and cities. There are no car parking charges and, with the car being
left at home, it’s better for the environment. An added
benefit of travelling by bus is that you can sit back, relax and let
the driver worry about the traffic.
Here at Arriva North West and Wales, we already run a number of
offers to help our passengers make the most of their money including
Day, Weekly and 4-Weekly tickets. Multi journey tickets can be used
as many times as you like and they are also transferable to friends
and family. Now we want to hear from people who are willing to
take part in our test to compare the realities of travelling by car
versus the bus.”
The Arriva North West and Wales cost comparison study will commence
on Wednesday, 1 October 2008.
The deadline to contact Arriva North West
and Wales for people who wish to take part is Sunday, 28 September
2008. |
