Liverpool ONE lights up!
THE first ever
switch on of Liverpool One's Christmas lights took place on
Thursday, 6 November 2008. To press the plunger and turn on the
beautifully decorated conical Christmas trees and exquisite
chandeliers, the cast of Cinderella from the Empire Theatre
including Pete Price (Ugly Sister) Ted Robbins (Baron Hard Up) and
Steven Fletcher (Prince Charming) came down. Other Christmas
decorations included giant paper chains adorning South John Street
while in the Galleria there were jumbo snowflakes. Along with the
entertainment which took place was included Jack Frost and the Ice
Queen, the Christmas Elves and the White Lights Ensemble. Throughout
the run up to Christmas there will be the usual traditional German
market stalls, live music and performances from some fantastic
choirs. Around every corner there will be a number of Christmas
surprises in addition to some special celebrity guests!
