MTV Liverpool Music Week 2008 Ends Fantastically...

THE MTV Liverpool Music Week 08 ended excitingly with the Coronation Street star and Red Dwarf legend, Craig Charles, taking to the decks as DJ in the years closing party. It was hosted in Liverpool's 'Bumper' night club. Craig was backed up by these other DJ's Cntmix Wontmix Shdntmix Dontmix, Sonny J and Kole, off of home pumped out a fantastic range of tunes to a delighted audience.  Craig was very friendly, even inviting the press over to photograph him and his fellow DJ's along with many of his fans. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed as the beat of the music pulsated around the venue. It was a shame that the local press found, as a waste of time, that MTV's main event, the MTV Awards, run by MTV from London, because MTV viewed it as not being interesting for many regional and local readers. That was, in fact a blessing, for it seemed to be far more fun to be with the talent at the Liverpool Music Week, rather than the in the Arena. The Music Week itself has been an extremely well run event. It has hosted many amazing events, from lectures to band concerts and lots more; it truly was a welcome addition to the City in Liverpool's Capital of Culture Year. This event has help many local artists get seen on an international, national and regional level, on the back of big national, and international names like Chris Martin (Coldplay), Mark Radcliffe (Radio 2), The Wombats, Steve Levine (producer), Dawn Joseph (songwriter) and not forgetting Craig Charles. Many of the music fans in the City spoke highly of the Music Week, but complained about the way the MTV and the big names treated many people in the city. It enabled many music fans within Liverpool and visiting have a chance to appreciate just how good our local music scene really is! We would love to hear your views about the Liverpool Music Week and we would like to say well done to all, who took part in it and, especially, to the Liverpool based organisers! They are a credit to the City and helped keep the real Liverpool alive. We look forward to seeing what the Liverpool Music Week will do, should it run next year, which we hope it will do. We will also lend our full support to it, for it is what Liverpool is about, good entertainment, friendly people, and of course, true Scouse Humour..
