St Jerome’s Summer Fair.

Saturday the 23rd saw Patrick and I going along to see the Summer Fair at St Jerome’s school. The weather was fantastic, lovely and warm, which helped to bring out the local people to see the fair, and gave everything a cherry atmosphere, there were definitely lots of happy people. There were several rides and features from, kicking a football into a net to score enough points to win a Liverpool signed football. Photographs could be taken with a signed England shirt, signed by the way by some of the squad. Horse riding on Annabel and Moffat, and miniature train rides were all present as were some traditional rides like merry-go-rounds.

First aides were present in the form of the Red Cross although they were not apparently needed. The Formby fire brigade were also present allowing the kids to climb all over the inside of the engine as well as sounding the siren.

This is the first summer fair that has been held since the school burnt down last year, and a real success it was too. I hope they will hold one next year and I can report on that too.

Formby Fire Men and their Clean Machine and bellow two budding recruits sound the sirens and take the wheal.
