Survey reveals honesty not the best policy in an interview
TELLING the
truth about your last job isn’t always the answer when at an
interview as a study reveals candidates who have openly admitted to
hating their last boss or work colleagues fared top in a UK-wide
poll.
The survey that was carried out by new online recruitment finders
.shiftshack.com
has composed the top 10 worst things that have been
said at interviews.
The top 10 are as follows:-
1. I hated my last boss.
2. Ask:- “Do you
mind if we do this outside so that I can have a fag?”
3. Qualify your
greatest achievement with:- “Of course I was totally hammered
at the time.”
4. Challenge your
interviewer to an arm wrestle
5. Refuse to sit down
and ask for the interview to be conducted standing up.
6. Ask:- "Does
your company have a policy on concealed weapons?"
7. Mention that your
CV would have been stronger, but you didn't feel like making
anything else up.
8. Ask:- “What
counts as sexual harassment?”
9. Do you have a
Facebook?
10. Ask-: “How
long until I get a promotion?”
Roddy Angus, managing director of ShiftShack.com, said:- “Some
of the stories that we have heard from employers about the questions
that are asked at interviews are astonishing. It would appear that
in some cases honesty isn’t the best policy and that some people
don’t think their questions through before asking them.”
We would love to hear your worst
interview answers or comments, but don't worry we will not print
your name with them, if you send them to us.

THE
BUGWORLD EXPERIENCE LANDS IN LIVERPOOL
LIVERPOOL'S
Albert Dock will become a hive of activity this summer as kids and
adults alike swarm to a unique new attraction, the Bug World
Experience.
Set to open in July 2009, the Bug World Experience is the first of
its kind in the UK. It will show visitors the world through a bug’s
eyes, testing their bravery, wit and skill with interactive
challenges and games along the way. Guided through simulated
environments from a rainforest to a savannah to the everyday British
home, visitors will see, find out about and even interact with the
bugs that inhabit each.
As well as getting the chance to handle bugs like the giant hissing
cockroach, those that like their day out with a sting in the tail
can head to the Bug World Experience Base Camp, to sample insect food
delicacies from around the world, including chilli locusts, meal
worm pancakes and oven baked tarantula!
“There’ll be a real buzz around the place, and that’s not just
the Panamanian paper wasps! In all seriousness, this is a
must for all budding scientists, adventurers and travellers. Nowhere
else in Britain could they get up close and personal to insects and
bugs like this in a fun and educational way.” says the Bug World Experience
general manager Jenny Dobson.
A number of
endangered species will become residents of the Bug World Experience,
where the bug experts are committed to helping maintain and boost
their populations through conservation, education and carefully
planned breeding programmes.
The Bug World
Experience will open to the public on 1 July 2009. Adult ticket
prices will be under £10 with concessions for children, seniors and
