Groove on the Green

OVER Saturday, 16 May to Sunday, 17 May 2009, Liverpool One played host to the John Lewis Grove On The Green. The event had lots of fantastic Jazz bands taking to the stage on Chavasse Park. The photos here are of S.J'S Oshun Bluse Co. performing in a wind-swept park. Despite the wind, many people seemed to stop and enjoy the music. "A very refreshing change from modern pop music." a shopper in her mid 20s told us, as we took some photographs at the far end of the park.

Other things happened as well on 16 May 2009, with Morris dancers performing around the shopping centre, including Southport Swords and the The Argarmeols Clog team for their Day of Dance. Both proved to be very entertaining and kept the unsettled weather out of the minds of the visitors to the shopping area.
