The
Doves Got Talent Competition A Success
YOUNG
performers took to the stage at the United Reform Church, Formby In
the Dove's Got Talent Competition, that was held on Wednesday, 3
June 2009. The youngest was aged 8 years and the eldest was 16, each
Performing in front of a panel of judges, their parents and friends.
The night started with a fantastic drummer and other amazing acts
followed, Including a martial arts display and even an operatic set.
One of the organisers of the event and Trustee of the Formby based
youth group, the Dove Trust, Angela Mockler, MBE said:- "I
know how much amazing talent there is out there among our young
people and it was so good to see it on stage this week. All the
young people who took part were very talented and performed
exceptionally well. I am so pleased to have witnessed it."
On the panel was local radio personality and Sefton Councillor, Debi
Jones, the former Everton star, Stuart Barlow, and a presenter for
the local radio station, Dune 107.9, Phil Johnson. All proceeds of
the night will go to the youth centre and will benefit the
increasing number of young people who use the centre.
The Dove Centre is next to Formby Railway station, and is open on
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights, from 5.30pm.
