APPEAL FOR INFORMATION AFTER MAN FOUND WITH HEAD INJURIES ON STANLEY
ROAD, BOOTLE

Police officers have issued an appeal for information following the
admission of a man to hospital in Liverpool with serious head
injuries.
An ambulance was called to Stanley Road, Bootle, at about 2am on the
morning of Sunday, 7 June 2009, after a member of the public had found the
man unconscious on Stanley Road (the part of the road heading away
from the Strand/city centre towards Linacre Lane). The man was taken
to hospital where his condition is described as critical.
Detectives believe that the injuries sustained by the victim are the
result of an assault and are appealing to anyone who may have any
information to come forward.
It is believed that the victim may have been drinking in pubs around
the Strand area of Bootle. Police are anxious to speak to anyone who
may have seen him on Saturday night leading up to him being found by
the member of the public.
It is believed the victim is 43 years old and from the Anfield area.
He is described as stocky build and was wearing grey combat
trousers, a black jacket and black boots.

MAN
CHARGED - ATTEMPTED MURDER
MERSEYSIDE
Police have confirmed that Paul Anthony May, 37, has been charged in
connection with the attempted murder of a 50 year old man.
At around 8.40pm on Saturday, 6 June 2009 officers were called to an
address in The Northern Road, Crosby. A 50 year old man was taken to
hospital with stab wounds to his chest and he is in a stable
condition.
Paul Anthony May, 37, of Fairbairn Road, Waterloo, was arrested and
later charged with attempted murder.
APPEAL FOR INFORMATION - SHOTS FIRED, SELWORTHY ROAD
MERSEYSIDE
Police is appealing for information after shots were fired at a
house in Selworthy Road, Southport, on Saturday, 6 June
2009.
Officers were called to the scene at around 11.40pm following
reports of shots being fired at a house.
No-one was injured in what detectives believe was a targeted attack.
It is too early to say if the shooting is linked to other recent
incidents in the Sefton area.
Crime scene investigators have carried out forensic examinations at
the scene and house-to-house enquiries have been conducted.
High-visibility police patrols have been stepped up in the area to
provide reassurance to the public.
