CONFRONTATIONAL BURGLARY DOVEDALE ROAD
MERSEYSIDE
Police have confirm that officers are investigating an incident
which happened at a house on Dovedale Road, Allerton, on the evening
of Saturday, 15 August 2009.
Officers were called
to a house on Dovedale Road at around 10.20pm following reports that
four men wearing balaclavas and armed with wooden sticks, had forced
entry through the front door. Three of the offenders were in dark
clothing and the fourth was wearing a blue tracksuit.
The offenders ordered the occupants to remain seated before making
off with property including items of gold jewellery, some of which
is very distinctive (photographs below). No-one was injured during
the incident.
It is believed the
offenders drove off in a silver coloured Volvo car, driven by a
fifth offender, along Rose Lane into Allerton Road.
Officers attended at
the scene and Crime Scene Investigators have carried out forensic
examinations. Detectives have carried out house-to-house inquiries
and high-visibility patrols will be carried out in the area to
provide reassurance to the community.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw
anything suspicious immediately before or after it happened, to come
forward. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact

British Red Cross launches new emergency response vehicle
GREATER
Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside to benefit from new vehicle
funded by Brit Insurance Charitable Trust, amking the British Red
Cross better equipped to help casualties and respond to emergencies.
The new emergency response vehicle will be in operation across
Greater Manchester from early September (2009) providing first aid
cover at public events and supporting the North West Ambulance
Service.
Stephen Hagerich, emergency response senior services manager for the
British Red Cross, said:- ”Thanks to the funding from the Brit
Insurance Charitable Trust, the Red Cross has a quality, first line
ambulance that will be staffed by our skilled and dedicated
volunteers, supporting the local community.
The Red Cross receives over 80 requests each year for ambulance
cover at public events, and the new vehicle is expected to provide
this first aid service, as well as assisting the North West
Ambulance Service in responding to major emergencies.
With ‘Building Safer Communities’ partnership donations from the
Brit Insurance Charitable Trust, the British Red Cross has been able
to purchase nine emergency response vehicles and vital emergency
response equipment like shelters and defibrillators for use across
the UK. Part of the donation was also spent on training Red Cross
staff and volunteers in emergency response measures, and the
partnership enabled the creation of the ‘Prepare for the Unexpected’
resource on the Red Cross website (www.redcross.org.uk/prepare).
‘Prepare for the Unexpected’ gives vital information on simple
precautions that can be taken to prepare for a range of emergency
situations like fires and floods, along with advice on how to cope
when they do."

APPEAL TO TRACE NEXT OF KIN - GEORGE O'DONNELL THE Liverpool
City Coroner's Office are appealing for help in tracing the next of
kin of George O'Donnell, aged 50, of Beech Terrace, Kensington, who
was found dead on Tuesday, 4 August 2009.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Any next of kin, or anyone who has information about Mr O'Donnell's
next of kin, is asked to contact Liverpool City Coroner's Office
