WITNESS APPEAL - BURGLARY, DOWHILLS DRIVE, CROSBY

Police Detectives have released photographs of expensive jewellery
stolen during a house burglary in Crosby.
The burglary took place at a house in
Dowhills Drive while the owner was out.
The offenders broke in through a window
at the back of the house between 9am and 10.15am on Friday, 31 July
2009. They
stole a safe containing items of jewellery worth several thousand
pounds and a valuable rug.
Police believe the offenders used a blue old-style Ford Escort
during the incident and are appealing for anyone who saw a vehicle
matching that description in the area or has been offered jewellery
like the items pictured in suspicious circumstances to contact them

MERSEYSIDE
Police are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new website.
The new look website provides direct access to local information,
and a host of new features that will make it much easier for
residents of Sefton to find out information about their local area.
From Thursday 27 August when the 'new look' website
launches some of the new features will include:-
* A more advanced post-code search enabling Sefton residents to
quickly find out the details of their local neighbourhood Policing
Team and how to contact them
* The ability to personalise the website to where they live, so that
each time they visit they will automatically see updates about local
policing issues
* Direct links to social networking sites such as Facebook and
Twitter, enabling visitors to share news and information about local
policing issues with their friends
* More opportunities to interact with Merseyside Police, from rating
and commenting on hot topics, to nominating their own local policing
priorities online
In addition to these new features, the site will still carry all the
latest news and announcements from Merseyside Police, the latest job
vacancies through a new e-recruitment system and the ability to
report non-emergency crimes online.

TWO
SENTENCED UNDER OPERATION NEMESIS
TWO men, on
Monday, 24 August 2009, have been jailed for their involvement in
the supply of drugs.
Kwame Terry, aged 25, from The Reach,
Leeds Street, Liverpool, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
John Mayer, aged 45, from Nelson Place
in Hanley, was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
Both men were sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court for their
involvement in conspiracy to supply a quantity of cocaine between
January 2007 and May 2008.
The men were arrested as part of Operation Nemesis following a major
investigation by the force’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit.
Chief Superintendent Bernie O’Reilly, from Stoke-on-Trent Division,
said:- “These men were arrested as part of Operation Nemesis
and have today received significant prison sentences.
Operation Nemesis was launched by Staffordshire Police in September
2007 to tackle major drug dealers across the county and is
continuing to be successful. The message to all is clear. If
you are looking to supply drugs in Staffordshire you will be caught
and dealt with accordingly. Staffordshire Police and its
partners will continue to work together to tackle drug dealers and
today’s sentence reflects our ongoing efforts.”
Ch Supt O’Reilly is also reminding members of the public to inform
police if they have concerns about drug dealing in the community
they live in.

Man charged with having
money contrary to the proceeds of crime act...
MERSEYSIDE
Police have charged one man following the discovery of dye stained
cash on 22 May 2009. Following an investigation by the Matrix
robbery team, in liaison with the CPS and the security industry,
Graham Maidment, 24, of Loudon Grove, Toxteth, was charged on 17
August with having money contrary to the proceeds of crime act. He
has was bailed to appear before Liverpool Magistrates court. |
