Town Green Lions 4 Ainsdale
Ainsdale’s captain Conor Bligh scored his 50th goal for the Ainsdale
outfit finding the net in the 10th minute.
Celebrations were short lived, however, as within 4 minutes, Town
Green’s centre forward hit back with a brace to put the Lion’s
firmly in control.
The second half saw chances at both ends but it was Town Green who
took their opportunities adding further goals on 26 and 33minutes
for a deserved 4-1 victory.

Southport Trinity 3 Burscough Juniors 0
Trinity entertained a well organised Burscough team at the Rookery.
Trinity started very well doing all the attacking, with both Jordan
Seddon and Aidan Darcy going close.
Burscough's defence and goalkeeper Adam Phillips were brilliant
though, making the Trinity forward line work hard.
Will Jones broke the deadlock when he provided Jordan Seddon with a
great chance, splitting the defence open with a great pass which
Jordan made no mistake from.
Trinity wasted some very good chances in the first half and started
the second half the same but Jamie McCormack and Joel Seddon in
defence made no mistakes in keeping Burscough out.
Lewis Harwood then settled Trinity down by adding a second from the
edge of the box.
The Burscough goalkeeper, Adam Phillips, continued to be
outstanding, preventing Jordan Seddon, Aidan Darcy and Will Jones
from increasing the arrears.
With full time approaching Will Jones again split the defence with a
pinpoint pass,. This time Aidan Darcy made no mistake.
The Man of the match was close today but Jamie McCormack got it for
Southport Trinity and for Burscough it was Goalkeeper Adam Phillips
for his awesome display.

Billinge 3 Ainsdale 1
Billinge, playing a rare home game, faced Ainsdale today and
Ainsdale were good value for their position in the league as they
battled well for every ball and had good movement up front with a
strong defence. However it was a game won in midfield by Billinge
with the qualities collectively of Jacko, Peate , Bradshaw and
Chisnall in the first half and Connolly and Barron in the second who
won this game.
Billinge started brightly with Alex making his debut on the right
firing wide from a tight angle. Deano then fired over after good
work by Bradhaw down the left. Ainsdale then had their own chance
firing wide from distance.
Peate playing well and testing the right full back then beat his man
and played an inch perfect ball into Deano whose bullet header went
into the roof of the net to make it 1-0.
A couple of minutes later it was Peate again romping down the left
and beating two men before placing a great cross in for Deano to
head just over.
It was Deano himself, playing very well, who then won the ball in
midfield and played a diagonal ball into Bradshaw’s path to finish
coolly to the right of the keeper to make it 2-0 on 27 minutes.
The game then developed into a midfield battle for the next ten
minutes as Ainsdale tried to reassert themselves. A long ball
through to Deano was then driven in with power and a fantastic save
by the away keeper saw the ball cannon off the bar to keep Ainsdale
in it.
With tomorrow’s Lancashire cup in mind 5 substitutions were then
made by Billinge, with Fredders, Hook, Connolly, Barron and O Brien
coming on.
It was Connolly who made it 3-0 with a fortunate strike off his shin
which flew over the keepers head on 42 minutes.
The game then lost its urgency and tempo from Billinge’s point of
view as most of the rest of the players faced the prospect of
another game.
A couple of free kicks were wasted with
neither the ball, nor the keeper being worked and several corners
not put away by Billinge with excellent deliveries in by Peate.
Ainsdale showed their quality however with a chipped free kick
leaving a man unmarked and Ant came out to smother the shot point
blank to keep the score at 3-0.
Fredders and then Bradshaw had strikes blocked some 10 yards out.
With three minutes to go a great Peate corner looked destined for
the top left hand corner of the net by O’Brien but somehow an
Ainsdale defender got his head in the way.
It was left to Ainsdale to get a deserved consolation goal after
good work down their right and a good cross in saw yet another
unmarked player steal in with a good shot into the roof of the net.
Credit goes to the lads for playing to the final whistle and, in the
main, not losing their concentration.
