Formby Village Christmas Lights Switch on 2009
THOUSANDS of
people flocked into Formby to see the annual switch on of the
Christmas Lights. The event was an overwhelming success, which
packed out the small village centre, as you can see from our
pictures. The event, for its size was far more successful than the
big switch on in Southport. The event had a fun fair, Father
Christmas and also music performed on a stage, at the top of the
main, village centre road. Singing on the stage was by St Luke's
Primary School, former x-Factor contestant Paris Graham-Jones and
Nick Donnelly. Also joining them on the stage were John Cooper from
Dune FM, 11 year old Georgia Land, Mr Dunne, as well as the Formby
Village Rose Princess and the Formby Prince. But as the main
attractions, beside Santa, on stage were Garry Gillespie, who is a
Liverpool FC legend and Everton star, Graham Stuart. They kicked off
the Lights Switch-on. Well done to the Champion, Sefton Council and
all the local traders who took part. A fantastic event!
