Give someone a lifesaving gift this Christmas

MANY of us will be struggling with ideas for Christmas presents, but why not give something extra special this year?  Donating blood costs nothing, but by giving just half an hour of your time, you could help save or improve someone’s life.

Traditionally, blood stocks tend to dip over the Christmas period as people are unable to donate due to winter illnesses; and with local hospitals needing over 4000 units of blood every week to treat patients involved in accidents or suffering from cancer, the need for blood is constant.

Blood really does save lives and the National Blood Service would urge donors to keep their appointments and encourage friends and family to go along to session too.
