Southport
Line Dancers At The Close of the Commonwealth Games.
Article
& Photos by Patrick Trollope.
The close of
the Commonwealth Games was fantastic, even if the rain was
pounding down hard. Nearly 100 Line Dancers from
the local based Sky Boots and the Stompers Club took part with
the 1,000 odd dancers who preformed in the creation of a large
dove of peace symbolizing the friendship of the games. The
then made out the words "Make Peace". With
millions of viewers watching on TV, tuning in on the radio one
dancers said "It is a fantastic opportunity to show
the world what we are and to promote the North West. It is
also a one in a life time experience that I would never have
missed for the world."
