Be
a part of Red
for Heart in Merseyside this February
THE British
Heart Foundation (BHF) is inviting the people of Merseyside to turn
red during February and take a stand against the UK’s biggest killer
by supporting its Red for Heart campaign.
February is National Heart Month and thousands of people across the
country have already signed up and are planning many red-themed
fundraisers including dinners, coffee mornings, quizzes, Valentine
dances, sponsored challenges such as skydiving, plus bingo and bake
sales.
People can also get involved in National Wear Red Day on Friday 26
February 2010 and the BHF is calling on schools, colleges,
businesses, sporting groups and Rotary Clubs to take part by donning
red and raising essential funds in the fight against heart disease.
Boxes of Red for Heart pin badges are available to order online to
sell at work, or put out in the local community.
Ken Fretwell, BHF Fundraising Manager in Merseyside, said:-
“Across the UK we aim to raise £1.5 million during the Red for Heart
campaign, to help save lives. There are fundraising ideas for
everyone, from wearing red, to being a red devil for the day and
skydiving from 14,000 feet! I hope people of Merseyside
encourage friends, family and colleagues to get involved this
February and ‘be a part of Red for Heart’ to help the BHF make a
real difference.”
Please contact Ken Fretwell for help and advice with fundraising
on:- 0151 6782646 / 07714 254503 or by
email.
Red for Heart fundraising packs are available to order free of
charge from
bhf.org.uk/red and include
a red-themed sweepstake, quizzes, a collection box, posters to
promote your event, stickers, fun-draising tips and ideas, and much
more! You can also order boxes of Red for Heart pin badges online.
