Letters to the editor:- "Brookside To DVD"

"I grew up watching Brookside as most of my Family were big Brookie fans and I always like Brookside because it was set in Liverpool & for the fact it was a Real set. It had great storylines and acting.

I visited the Close back in 2006 with my Family and took some video clips & stuck them on youtube. I had alot of fans messaging me about it & 1 guy called 'Danny Burton'. We started talking alot about Brookie & spoke about the Brookside: Unfinished Buisness dvd that got released just a few days after the final episode on Channel 4. We then went on to say were are the other DVD's that never got released (there were trailers on the Unfinished Buisness dvd) 1 of them was the 100 greatest moments & another one of Barry Grant going after the killers of Damon Grant who got released from jail. These never got a release.

We then came up with a idea of starting a online petition and see what happends. We went to a few online tv forums and soap websites. we got abit of publicity in the Echo in 2007 & daily post under Mike Hornby, Mike Chapple & Tina Miles.

We got invited to Dean Sullivans birthday party & went there in our own made 'Bring Brookside on DVD' t-shrts at the event and met alot of the Cast including, Micheal Starke (Sinbad), Suzanne Collins, Ann-Marie Davis, Ste Fletcher & Phil Olivier to name a few. And also Phil Redmond, who liked our Campaign and told us to take our time with it. He also said something about the 30th anniversary? maybe he has something up his sleeve, would be good to see something new aswell like 'Life after the close'? following each family as to were they went etc and what they do now. Just like Ron dickson (Vince Earl) said on Granada reports last year i think it was.

Our aim is to get anything onto DVD really, we would love Box sets, spin-offs, Classic episodes, The Best of Brookie... Like i said all other soaps have DVD's of Classics out on sale. Why not Brookie? Brookside was probably the Biggest ground breaking soap of all time. Brookside done everything first.

A quoat i take from the Liverpool Echo's Brookside 20th celebration newspaper is ' Brookside is regarded as an academy of excellence, not just for its behind-the-scenes teams, but for the sheer volume of acting talent that has come and gone through its doors over the 21 years it was on air'. The Actors & Acresses from Brookside would be appriciated then for there hard work and acting skills on brookie more when they see there own parts on a dvd in the future. something they too could show there own children in years to come!..

The website to the Cast Supporting Quoats is:-  brooksidefans.webs.com

The Official petition is linked from that website.

We have a Facebook Group here:- facebook.com

Twitter is:- twitter.com/brooksideDVD

We currently have over 4500 signatures and counting."
