Formby Live 2010 Coverage – Part 1...
OVER the 17
July to 18 July 2010, residents in Formby braved the gloomy weather
and headed on out to see the Formby Live Music Festival. The some of
the event was nearly cancelled because of the rain, but the main
event on the Sunday, sheltered in the grounds of the Formby Pool,
went ahead as planned and was a fantastic success. Other events took
place throughout the weekend on stages in the village and also in
many local venues, The Cross House Pub, Cafe D'Art, The Gallery and
the Royal, Woodwoods and the Village Inn. It was not just bands
taking part, as but also entertainment was provided by The Fantastic
Mr fox and even Tribal Belly Dancing! Special thanks had to go to
students from Range High School, who not only performed, but they
also helped the organisers. It is hoped that sponsorship can be
found for next year’s event, so it can be built on and be made even
bigger and better. If you can sponsor this event please contact our
news room or email the Formby Live Chair directly via:-
patwordley@aol.com. These are just some of the
photographs taken at the event. We will have more in next week’s
issue!
