Call Centre’s Rude Call, Help UsTrack Them Down!
ON 17.07.2010
at 13:22, one of our phone lines was called by a call centre whose
staff are not very professional in our view. We get lots of scam
calls reported and other annoying calls, but this one had us, and
also BT, very puzzled, if not shocked, at just how unprofessional
the caller is. Our answer phone recorded it all and we have opted to
distributing the message as a warning and also to try find out who
contacted us. We would have called back to lodge a warning but
because the number used blocks incoming calls, we are unable do so.
The number that called was 08454349395.
If you play the audio
below, be
warned, it is adult in nature.
We would like to know who the firm is
so we can pass it on to BT. Sadly, as it is not BT number, they
can’t trace it.

Police Officers in Liverpool North are appealing for information
following an incident at Lloyds Chemist, Townsend Lane, Anfield.
Officers were called after a burglary at the premises at around 1am,
Sunday, 15 August 2010. It is thought that two men broke into the
chemist and stole a large quantity of drugs and a quantity of cash.
The stolen drugs include methadone and high strength pain-killers.
Enquiries are ongoing in the area and CCTV is being sought.
Detective Inspector Paul Mann said:- "I am appealing to anyone
who has any information about this incident to come forward and
contact police. It goes without saying, you shouldn't take anything
that is not prescribed for you but I would urge anyone who has been
offered such items in the last day or so, to come forward and let us
know. Some of these drugs are very strong and in the wrong hands,
can prove fatal." Townsend Lane is a busy road even at
that time of the morning, if you saw anything suspicious or have any
information about this incident, please contact officers on:- 0151
777 4061 or you can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on:- 0800
555 111. All of the stolen drugs are labelled and include:-
11 litres of methadone; Morphine; Diamorphine; Oxycocone
pain-killers; Fentayl pain-killers; Alsentanil pain-killers.
National Golf Club Challenge to
double in size next year
AFTER a
successful launch year in 2010, The National Golf Club Challenge
will double in size in 2011 with a new event in support of the Seve
Ballesteros Foundation, working in partnership with Cancer Research
UK. The organisation's Help For Heroes 2011 event will take
place on the weekend of 4 June to 5 June 2011, with a new nationwide
Seve Ballesteros Foundation event on the 23 July to 24 July 2010
weekend.
Speaking of his support for the new nationwide event, Seve
Ballesteros comments:- "I have always admired and loved
British people. Their support during the toughest match of my life
is very special. I am proud to be involved in the National Golf Club
Challenge and I hope golf clubs throughout the UK will take part to
raise funds for The Seve Ballesteros Foundation, in partnership with
Cancer Research UK. By signing up to the challenge, clubs all over
the UK can enjoy the sport while raising money for brain cancer
research."
2010's National Golf Club Challenge brought hundreds of golf clubs
and thousands of golfers together on the same weekend in
July as part of a nationwide fundraiser, with each participating
golf club hosting their own charity golf day in aid of Help for
Heroes.
In 2011 the two National Golf Club Challenge competitions are
designed to coincide with participating golf club's monthly
Stableford event, with each club turning the day into their own
charity golf day. Competing clubs submit aggregate scores from their
10 best players on the day. This then determines the top scoring
golf clubs against standard scratch, who will be invited to compete
in a climactic National Final for each event.
"The inaugural National Golf Club Challenge event has been an
outstanding success, exceeding everyone's expectations. The great
British golfing community have supported the event in their
thousands. With this in mind, we are looking forward to doubling our
efforts in 2011 in order to stage two challenge events - in support
of two very worthy charities." commented Event Director,
Stacey Jeffries.
Seve Ballesteros, whom many consider to be the greatest golfer ever
to play the European Tour, set up the Seve Ballesteros Foundation in
2009 and works in partnership with Cancer Research UK to raise money
for the charity's world class research into cancers of the brain.
The five-time Major winner continues to be an inspiration in his
personal life as much as he was during his professional career. He
was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2008 after collapsing at Madrid
Airport. Having undergone four operations, intensive chemotherapy
and a six-week course of radiotherapy, Seve is now fighting back
with the same grit and determination we have seen from him on the
golf course. For more information on The National Golf Club
Challenge, including how to enter your golf club for either or both
of the 2011 events, go to:-
