Pixie Lott ‘rocks it up’ with the launch of her autumn/winter
fashion collection for Lipsy
BRITISH pop
princess and style icon Pixie Lott has once again teamed up with
high street fashion favourite – Lipsy - for a show-stopping
autumn/winter collection. The 25 piece collection, which launches
this week, comprises 2 distinct looks – Pixie Rocks and Pixie Party
– inspired by the singer’s own rock chick girly style and her
favourite style icons past and present.
Pixie Rocks is all
about edgy, rock‐inspired style. This capsule collection has
everything from studded leather biker jackets to statement full
length black jumpsuits and leather tassel skirts. Flashes of leather
and stud detailing feature across many styles and collection
highlights include an uber glamorous Dalmatian print fur coat.
Pixie Party is the
ultimate party girl wardrobe with 50s inspired prom dresses, sleek
and sophisticated evening dresses with lace detail, satin bows,
layering and plunging backs. Delicate cream, nude and dusky pink
colours are contrasted by more dramatic graphic prints and classic
black styles ‐ there is something to match every fashionista’s party
style!
Jeremy Stakol, CEO of
Lipsy, said:- “Pixie has a natural flair for design and style
and this works incredibly well combined with Lipsy’s signature look.
The spring/summer collection was an instant success with our
customers who couldn’t get enough of Pixie’s festival and party
wear. It’s been a pleasure to work with such a talent and we’ve no
doubt the autumn/winter collection will be another huge talking
point in the fashion world this season.”
The collection
officially launched on Tuesday, 28 September 2010 and will be available
from the Lipsy store in the Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre.
THREE ORGANISATIONS JOIN FORCES TO RAISE AWARENESS OF LIFE
THREATENING ILLNESSES TO PILGRIMS
THE Meningitis
Trust, Muslim Doctors and Dentist Association (MDDA) and Muslim
Council of Britain (MCB) are launching a joint Hajj Health Education
Project to educate Muslims in the UK about health issues relating to
their pilgrimage to Mecca, which will take place over 14 November to
17 November 2010.
The lifesaving project, launched at a recent special event, will
educate pilgrims, healthcare professionals and tour operators about
health issues and preventative steps like vaccination through
specially created health education materials, an educational
programme and lectures on an ongoing basis.
Dr Wasim Hanif, Chairman from the Muslim Doctors and Dentist
Association, says:- “Hajjis are often old and infirm, and
suffer from various chronic medical conditions that would require
extra care, so it is important to educate them about the health
demands of pilgrimage and the importance of preventative care.”
Sue Davie, Chief Executive of the Meningitis Trust, says:-
“Pilgrims need to be fully aware of the dangers of meningitis,
respiratory infections and other chronic conditions, and receive
appropriate protection where available and know what to do if they
are worried.”
Dr Shuja Shafi, Vice Chairman from the Muslim Council of Britain,
says:- “Approximately three million pilgrims from around the
world perform Hajj each year. As there are a lot of people in
prolonged close contact, exposure to a number of infectious diseases
is increased and, as such, we want pilgrims to have a safe
pilgrimage.”
There are around 2.5 million Muslims in the UK and performing Hajj
once in a lifetime is a religious obligation and one of the five
fundamental pillars of Islam. Approximately 25,000 British Muslims
perform Hajj every year.

£4.7M Expansion for Sefton’s Atlantic Park
UP to 1,500
jobs could be created at Atlantic Park in Sefton following the
confirmation of a £4.7 million investment from the Northwest
European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programme and the
Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA).
The investment, made up of £3.1 million ERDF and £1.6 million from
the NWDA, will support the delivery of the fourth phase of Atlantic
Park, located on Dunningsbridge Road in Sefton.
The project will involve site preparation and infrastructure works
to bring forward 22 hectares of land with the potential to develop
approximately 75,000 sq m of office and industrial accommodation,
create 1,500 jobs and attract £40 million of private sector
investment.
An existing
single-storey office building, will also undergo a comprehensive
programme of refurbishment and remodelling to provide Grade A office
accommodation. Named Caspian House, the building will provide
a modern efficient office space of around 3,500 sq m and will be
available as a whole or sub-divided into two individual
self-contained units with parking.
This latest phase of development complements Atlantic Park’s
existing five-storey flagship Grade A office building, No 1, which
was completed in 2008 to increase the quality of out-of-town office
accommodation in the local area.
Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive, NWDA, said:- “The provision
of high quality employment sites and office premises is crucial if
the region is to continue its strong track record in attracting
investment, a key economic driver for the North West.
The development of the Atlantic Park site, which is designated one
of the region’s key strategic regional sites, will play a key role
in supporting the growth of the local economy. The site has the
potential to generate significant new employment opportunities for
the local community and attract new investment into the area and
this investment will help to unlock this potential and enable the
scheme to move forward.”
Gareth Dickinson of Royal London Asset Management, the owners of the
site, said:- “Investment of this scale allows us to kick-start
the next phase of our speculative development and is a vital step
towards making Atlantic Park a key employment site.
A 36 week programme of works can now begin and will see us bring
additional high quality space and much needed choice to the office
market in the north of Liverpool. Caspian House will be completed by
the end of the year and the site wide infrastructure will be in
place by March 2011.”
Phil Davies, ERDF Programme Monitoring Committee member, said:-
“This investment is welcome news for Sefton. It will enable a key
business development for the area to move forward that has the
potential to create a significant number of new jobs for local
people, one of the key aims of the Northwest ERDF Programme.”
