Help boost blood stocks this February.

BLOOD donors in Southport are being asked to help keep blood stocks healthy as we get back on track following the recent bad weather.  Many sessions were cancelled when we were hit by the snow and ice over Christmas and into the New Year, which meant there was a dip in blood collections.

Thankfully, the generosity of donors over the festive period meant that there was enough blood to meet hospital demands, but NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is urging donors to help save and improve the lives of those in desperate need of blood.

Someone from NHS Blood and Transplant said;- “Blood stocks were affected over December and January and we want to get levels back to normal as quickly as possible. We thank all donors for their continuing generosity and appeal to those who have ever thought about becoming a donor – there’s no better time than now.”
