Southport car Dealer Hit By Vandals

"MINDLESS" was what business owner Mike Pettitt, who owns Mr Cars of Southport, on Hill Street, said in response to finding his vehicles windows smashed. "All the vehicles I have on display outside my showroom forecourt have had their windscreens smashed. It will cost me thousands of pounds to fix and it will put up my business insurance no end! I walked in on Saturday (23 April) only to find, on one of the busiest weeks, that my cars on show have been targeted by Vandals. I can’t count the loss of potential business I have suffered, and add the bill of replacing the windows and the increases in insurance prices, it is devastating to me." He said still shocked that this could occur outside his premises on Saturday. Police have taken evidence and are now looking for help in finding these people. They have also suggested that this could be connected with other damage in the area. If you have been around the area between 10pm Friday, 22 April 2011, and 7am Saturday and spotted anything suspicious, please contact Merseyside Police or ring Crimestoppers on:- 0800 555 111. We have now been told that Mike Pettitt now faces a bill of over £4000 to sort the damage out. Residents and other businesses within in the area have been left asking why people could do such a mindless act and wonder what impression it leaves on visitors to the resort.

If you have any information about this incident please call Crimestoppers:- 0800 555 111 now.
