Southport has one of the youngest female F1 photographers...

LEANNE Wilson, currently living in Southport, after making a move from Northern Ireland, has been accredited by the FIA as a
F1 Photojournalist at the Valencia GP, at the young age of 23, and attended the Valencia F1 event 3 days after her 24 birthday, on 26 June 2011. Leanne co-owns Octane Photographic Ltd. with partner Craig Boon, we believe that Leanne, is currently the youngest current F1 accredited media, and also youngest female.   Growing up in Northern Ireland, Leanne has always been interested in photography from when her older brother Alan, started to attend and shoot at rallies as a spectator. At the age of 16, Leanne bought her first camera kit from her brother, and continuing to shoot with it until the start of 2010 when she went Professional.   Growing up in Northern Ireland had some great advantages for Leanne and her photography, as she was able to attend rallies like WRC Ireland stages and Lurgan Rally, North West 200 (Motorbike racing around the north coast of Northern Ireland) also attended Silverstone and the Budapest GP's. Having got a bug for motorsports photography, she was willing to share her work to other fellow photographers, where she met Craig Boon in 2009, having stuck up a great friendship with Craig, they both attended the Autosport Show in 2010 as media, where new beginnings began.  2 months after, Craig and Leanne, started up Octane Photographic Ltd and from then have attended many different events from club events to national and now international championships. Regular attenders of events like Formula 3, World Rally Championship, North West 200, GP2, British GT's and winter F1 testing.   Upcoming events for the rest of the season include Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, WRC Germany and GB, GP2 and GP3 races at Silverstone, applications are currently pending for F1 at Spa and Monza. Both are working with another local based media group called Vamhire.com to deliver auto sport news nationally and internationally.

NIGHT WORK FOR THE SCISSOR SISTERS AT HAYDOCK PARK

AMERICAN glam pop band the Scissor Sisters are the latest hot act to perform at Haydock Park this summer.  The group, who received rave reviews on Lady Gaga's worldwide Monster Ball Tour, will be at the racecourse on the evening of Saturday, 16 July 2011.

Formed in 2001, the Scissor Sisters biggest British hit was I Don't Feel Like Dancin' which topped the singles chart for 4 weeks in 2006. Their album of the same year, Ta-Dah, was number one for more than 6 months.  The band - made up of vocalists Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, multi-instrumentalist Babydaddy, lead guitar/bassist Del Marquis and drummer Randy Real - have earned a reputation for their humourous and controversial live concerts that have filled venues from the Bowery Ballroom in their hometown New York to London's O2 Arena.

They have collaborated with a number of other music stars including Elton John and Kylie Minogie, while Bono described them as "the best pop group in the world".  Now visitors to Haydock Park can experience one of their joyously unrestrained performances during the summer.

Prices for the Tattersalls Enclosure are £30 for adults and £15 for children aged between 4 and 17 years; the County Enclosure is £45 for adults and £22.50 for children; and the Premier Suite - which is limited to 450 people - is £60 or adults and £30 for children. Children aged three years and under - free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.  A dress code applies in both County and Premier with full details and purchase of tickets can be done at:- haydock-park.co.uk. The site also has information of the facilities in each enclosure. You can also use the ticket hotline:- 0844 579 3006 or at the racecourse in person, should you wish to get tickets. Also please not that parking is free of charge.

Gates will open at the racecourse at 4.40pm on 16 July 2011. The first race is currently scheduled for 6.40pm, and the Scissor Sisters come on stage after the final race at 9.10pm. All the races are sponsored by Hattons Solicitors.

Dickon White, Haydock Park's managing director, said:- "Haydock Park's summer series of music nights after horse racing has got better year after year - and the crowds return in big numbers. We're thrilled that the Scissor Sisters will be with us on Saturday, 16 July 2011, for our third music night of 2011. They are going to be hugely popular."
