Man dies after
multiple RTC on Formby Bypass
MERSEYSIDE Police have
confirmed that one man in his late 60's, John Mottram, from
Southport, was killed and a lady in her aged in her 60's had been
seriously injured on the A565 Formby Bypass. The conditions at the
time of the crash on 16 December 2011 had been bad and some road
users said that it was "blizzard like." at the time
(around 10am). The elderly driver of the car that had careered
off the road, had to be cut free from the vehicle by Merseyside Fire
Service. Sadly he later died in Southport Hospital and the passenger
his 65 year old wife, was also had to be cut free and taken to
hospital for treatment. The last news we have about Mr Mottram's
wife is that she remains in a serious condition in hospital. 3
other cars were also involved in the same collision. The 56 year old
male driver of the Range Rover sustained minor injuries in the
collision and was treated at the scene by Paramedics He did
not require hospital treatment. He is reported to have stopped
at the scene and is now helping Police with their enquiries. A 64
year old woman, in another car was also taken to Southport Hospital
for a precautionary check-up. Reports from Merseyside Police
and Merseyside Fire Service have also added that one of the other
motorists involved was a 31 year old mother and her passengers, a 9
month old baby and 3 year old girl. All three had been taken to
Alder Hey for precautionary check-ups. As a result of the crash both
lanes on both sides of the bypass had to be closed. The old
Southport Road was used as an alternative route by thousands of
commuters travelling between Southport and Crosby for most of the
day. They Bypass was reopened later that same night. 2 fire
appliances and a rescue unit attended the scene for most of the day

Ultimate Burlesque and Variety Show Returns With 3 Performances In
2012
FOLLOWING
the sell out success of The Martini Lounge Burlesque in 2011 and
Variety Show has announced not 1, but 3 new dates for the New Year
(2012). Tickets are now on sale for performances on Friday, 17
February, Friday, 20 April and Friday, 15 June 2012. All shows will
take place at Zeligs, Liverpool ONE.
Widely regarded as the must-see Burlesque and Variety showcase in
the UK, The Martini Lounge treasures the satire and performance art
that evolved since Burlesque’s 19th Century origin. Audiences are
invited to enjoy an impressive performance of glitz and glamour from
a forgotten age.
Previous Martini Lounge performers include Miss Exotic World Winners
and international burlesque stars such as Kitten de Ville (Los
Angeles) Dirty Martini (New York) Beeby Rose (Amsterdam) and Roxy
Diamond (Zurich), who have wooed audiences with their stunning
routines alongside fabulous performances from the founder of the
Martini Lounge, Liverpool’s own Millie Dollar and the one and only
Fred Bear in his role as compére.
The Martini Lounge’s 2012 will start with a bang, with the now
infamous Valentines Special on Friday, 17 February 2011, featuring
burlesque starlet Dinah Might, ‘comic goddess’ Mysti
Vine and Tricity Vogue, who is both beautiful and a dab hand with a
ukulele, all wrapped up in a show which is sure to get the audience
in the mood for love.
The glittering line ups for the April and June showcases with
‘Spring Fling’ and ‘Sizzlin' Summer’ themes
are yet to be confirmed. However, both are sure to contain stunning
performances from some of the globe’s best Burlesque stars courtesy
of Liverpool’s most exciting Burlesque and Variety show.
Following each performance, Zeligs will stay open
late for a Martini Lounge After Party for guests to soak up the
atmosphere, mingle with the performers & other guests and enjoy
delicious cocktails prepared by the fantastic Zeligs mixologists.
